R&D Electric propulsion development and testing
ConnectSAT aerospace seeks a Test and Experimentation Engineer to join us in the testing and development of electric propulsion systems. The ideal candidate has experience devising, carrying out and analyzing experimental tests. A passion for meticulous data acquisition, analysis and interpretation are essential. Experience desired in one or more of the following areas: ion beam diagnostics, electric propulsion performance testing, high vacuum test facilities, high voltage systems, experimental design and setup, data acquisition, instrumentation protocols (GPIB, serial, USB, ethernet etc…), LabVIEW, MATLAB, Solidworks
Responsibilities
● Commissioning high vacuum test facilities for electric propulsion performance tests
● Troubleshooting test setups
● Designing, fabricating and implementing test and assembly jigs
● Developing data acquisition and test automation software using LabView
● Performing data analysis in MATLAB
● Formulating and relaying design feedback
● Writing test procedures and test reports
● Following test procedures in support of R&D, flight hardware acceptance testing, and duration/lifetime testing
● Documenting, compiling, analyzing, presenting test data
Key skills
– Strong interest in electric propulsion and advanced propulsion concepts
– Good knowledge and understanding of measurement and control engineering
– Good knowledge of electrical engineering
– Knowledge in CAD, Matlab, Labview, Eagle
– Basic knowledge in plasma physics
– Englisch: fluent
